Drink at the Golden Cross

The Golden Cross sits quietly on historic Black Jack Street, in the center of Cirencester, Capital of the Cotswolds. The current building largely dates from the mid-nineteenth century, although there has been a coaching inn (possibly even a brewery) on this site for at least four centuries up to the present day.

Combining traditional charm and original features with contemporary levels of service and style, the dog-friendly Golden Cross incorporates the best of old and new. On entering the pub, guests are welcomed at the deep, solid oak bar, in itself an invitation to enjoy a refreshing pint of Arkell's ale or a glass or two of wine.

Beyond the bar you'll find the snug lounge, always with a log fire burning during the winter months, while the light and airy restaurant area features bright skylights, letting the sun shine in during the summer.

Add to this a sun-trpped beer and Pimms garden, together with a great town-center location and we believe you may have found perhaps the finest watering place in the Cotswolds!

In addition to our convivial bar and snug The Golden Cross Inn has a cellar to be proud of, for its well kept, award-winning real ales and its extensive new world and European wine list. The service is Cask Marque approved, and landlord Mark ensures that his ales are always kept in tip-top condition.

This Arkell's pub offers three traditionally-brewed real ales on tap at all times, while the wide-ranging wine list features at least ten house-recommended labels available by the glass, including Prosecco!

The Golden Cross also retains one of the widest selections of single malt whiskies in town, with a monthly featured whisky at a very reasonable price. From Monday to Friday we host an after work "Hoppy Hour", with all Arkell's ales and craft lager at just £3.30 a pint!

The pub also features regular live music on the last Friday of the month, and live Sky Sports TV is available for selected sporting events, both in the pub and in our Stable Bar annexe.
